Event Overview
On September 6th, 2025, ACA organized Hearts of Hope at SOS Children’s Village, Piliyandala.
The full-day program was designed to bring joy, learning, and creativity to over 130 children, while building meaningful bonds between the children, volunteers, and ACA’s community.
The event combined educational activities, fun games, art, a short film screening, lunch, and gift distribution, all carried out with love, teamwork, and care.
The program ran smoothly thanks to the collaboration between ACA volunteers, parents, students, and the SOS Village team.
Program Highlights
Opening & Icebreakers
The event began with the National Anthem, followed by warm welcome speeches and a fun icebreaker led by Pradeep and Diyasha, with Gayan translating in Sinhala.
Educational & Interactive Session
A live Zoom session with Teacher Brian introduced children to interactive learning. Bilingual support from Gayan and Yogendran ensured all children could follow and enjoy.
Entertainment & Engagement
Short films, songs, and music breaks kept the children energized. Cookies and snacks were shared during the screening, creating a festive atmosphere.
Lunch
Meals were distributed to all 130 children, including those unable to attend the main program. Volunteers coordinated smoothly to ensure everyone was cared for.
Creative Expression
Led by Susil, the art activity encouraged children to freely express themselves. Their drawings were proudly displayed in a mini “art exhibition” inside the hall.
Outdoor Games
Lively games like the musical-ball challenge brought fun and laughter, keeping children engaged and active.
Closing
The program ended with heartfelt speeches, a vote of thanks by Viyaana, gift distribution, and group photos—capturing a day of smiles, creativity, and togetherness.
